Whitewater Rafting Adventure

After about 2 weeks of thinking, I decided to just go for it. Hehe.. Bila lagi mau enjoy sama kawan2 kan?

This is my first ever trip at West Malaysia that I went with my university buddies.

One week prior to the trip, I actually still hesitating whether I want to join or not but after TC mentioned in Facebook that we need to pay the deposit, I must make up my mind since there’s no turning back. I paid anyway. Hehe.. :)

Next question, since the bus will be departed at 8.30 am in Puduraya, where will I stay for the night before the trip? I won’t put myself in a rush and frustrate myself to take the earliest bus from Melaka all the way to Pudu and then to Perak. No no no…

So, I put status on my Facebook asking for a place to stay and no one reply.. =( What to do.. So, since I don’t know their exact location, I started to ask around. Ask Arep, Mao (didn’t reply) and Koyot (didn’t reply on Facebook). I have to thank TC for this coz she managed to call Koyot and asked for me. So there, I got a place to stay. Hehe..

Since this is my first time travel to Bangi, I asked very detail questions about how to go around from Melaka all the way to Bangi. Haha.. I don’t want to get confused coz I really suck at keeping my direction and end up stuck and sleeping at Puduraya instead.. LOL..

Koyot told me to stop whether at Hentian Bas Kajang or UKM KTM Station. I asked my dad about it and he gave me suggestion to go to Pudu and then back to Kajang, which is not to my liking since it’s jumping bus.. I hate jumping from bus to bus which I don’t know why.. However, I got a really nice plan that is to go to Seremban, catch a commuter to UKM.. Sambil2 tu boleh la hang out dgn budak2 Seremban dulu.. Hehe..

Off I went to Seremban by bus, leaving at 1.30pm.

Kept messaging Seqam about where should I meet him. He kept giving me confusing directions. End up staying at the Terminal 2 waiting for him to pick me up.

Seqam drove me around city of Seremban, although I’ve been there a couple of times, he drove me like I’ve never been there before, showing me places.. HAHA!

Ate at A&W near to Seremban Parade and met Komeng there. We hung out until 5.00pm and then off I went to the KTM Seremban.

My very noob moments started here.. at the KTM..

This was my very first time taking a commuter. So, bear with me. I was really nervous and there were a lot of people.

I reached the counter and mentioned UKM as my destination and since this is my first time, I asked the lady at the counter which train should I hop on.

With a cynical smile, she said, “In your opinion, which train should you take?”

I backed out a bit and then I saw the board. There’s only two trains; destination: RAWANG and SINGAPORE.

I felt really hopeless and soulless..

The rail and the surrounding really blend together and the composition of colour is really cool. If only I can take better picture of this.

A lot of hot chicks around me but I don’t dare taking any picture.. LOL

Anyway, I arrived in UKM around 6.30pm and Koyot drove me to his house. Besar weh rumah dia.. Hoho.. Jakun first time datang.. His mom served me with karipap..

Contacted Mao and he drove over his dad’s Naza Ria together with Kerol and Ammar. Before masuk kereta, I told the story about my noob moment and they laughed.. they laughed hard.. T_T

Around 9.00pm, out from Koyot’s house and went to Warta (kot) in Bangi. Ate dinner in Rasamas, Koyot’s treat.

Next hang out at the Big Glass, near Koyot’s house, watching FA Cup Stoke vs. Arsenal where Mao gave out an idea to stay at his house since it’s easier to reach Pudu than rushing to take the first commuter at UKM. (I think in Mao’s head he already made his decision to come with us when he offered us a place to stay but keep asking us whether he want to join or not. =.=)

Big weh the glass. No wonder Big Glass. And someone so idiotic (^^) suggesting that the price is just RM2.50 which is actually RM5.00.

Around 12.30am, back to Koyot’s house, took our items and out we went, sending Ammar at Kajang and Kerol at Balakong.

Then, Mao drove me around and we went to Taman Bukit Permai. The view of Kuala Lumpur is just magnificent.. WITH NO FOG!!

 

Ooh.. My butt!

Around 2.30am we arrived at Mao’s house. His family already sleeping and we outside made quite a noise.

Cannot sleep because we shared the bed. I never have a good sleep for about a week anyway so I kept waking up and checked the clock.

(I know. According to me, the day started at 6.00am; my blog, my rule ^^)

Mao’s little brother woke us up at 6.30am and we took a bath and had bakso for breakfast!

Koyot and I didn’t dare to take the spicy stuff since both of us has stomach ache that morning.

Mao’s dad took us to STAR LRT Station and we went straight to Plaza Rakyat. Met Syepah there. Walked to Puduraya.

Met with the others and hung out while waiting for the bus.

8.30am-ish – Yahoo! Started our journey to Perak. There’s only us in the bus, slept most of the time.

Nearly 11.30pm, we arrived at Medan Gopeng, Perak. I saw a crocodile in the drain but I was the only one that saw it, so I can’t share the fun with anyone. =(

Shahul from Penang already waiting for us there and 10 minutes later, the agents of the rafting group arrived. Introduced themselves as Amy, Sherry (I think so and he’s a guy) and Pakcik TC which I also forgot his name.

They drove us straight to the caving site, for cave exploration. Gua Kandu is the name of the cave.

 

 

 Cilaka sibat kata aku macam Teletubbies –.-‘’

After we were soaked with our own sweat, next activity: WHITEWATER RAFTING YO!!

Before we did just that, we stopped for a while at Rumah Rehat Adeline, for girls to change into more proper attire, not the i-want-to-go-shopping-complex-kinda-attire-with-crocs-summore if yu know what I mean. LOL

 

We were given a crash course on how to survive in the raft (not exactly a raft, more like a boat). How to handle the paddle and all, how to wear the safety vest properly, what we should and shouldn’t do in the boat. We were so excited! Haha!

 See Wani behind Kim? She wore the vest but realize that the vest is too big for her. LOL. She got to wear the ‘budak kecik’ size.

 Yeah.. Listening to the instructors.

Yeah.. Enough said.. Picture time.. Go ahead and indulge. And get jealous!

We enjoyed to the max. Period. We were rafting around 13km along Sg. Kampar and the adventure ended after 2 hours of forward paddle, back-paddling, hold on to the Oh Shit (OS) line, boom-boom, shake the boat and intentionally capsized the boat. Oh.. and saving Yana’s CROCS.

Sampai je to our destination, we were out from the bloody cold water and terus makan! But that time, I don’t have the urge to makan banyak. I’ve lost my appetite and only managed to eat a little of the fried noodle. We ate at the gazebo and waited for our accommodation. I forgot what happened at that time coz my mind was on something else.

 Our place to stay. Girls got their own place. Looks like a big chicken coop. LOL

So that night, ada sorang pakcik ni offer us all to join them for dinner. Kampung-style! Woo! It’s been too long since I’ve ever tasted masakan kampung.

8.30pm – We rode the two cars and headed to the pakcik’s house. (Sorry la, on that day, semua nama orang I lupak. Hehe..)

The food are all ready. They’re only waiting for us to eat.. Ada macam2 weh.. Ikan bakar, sambal petai dengan ikan bilis, labu masak lemak kuning, tempoyak ikan bilis, ulam-ulaman, ikan masak kicap, asam pedas, and for our dessert, bubur pulut hitam. Slurrp.. Come on.. indulge.. :)

 

After eating, there’s nothing else worth mentioning here.. I didn’t get much sleep, I woke up and then hung out with the instructor, played ping-pong with them and back to the room at 4.00am, still kenot sleep, just staring blankly at the ceiling. LOL.. So yeah, moved on to the next day..

I got out from the room around 8.00am, just walking around the chalet area, enjoying the cool breeze and then lepak again with the instructors.. He mentioned that we’ll be going to the waterfall around 10.00am.

I just jalan2 bodoh je until around 9.00am, before Kim ajak me to join her play ping-pong.

10.00am-ish.. Off we go to the waterfall. It’s Ulu Geruntum waterfall. The view was just magnificent.

The current is really strong.. At the place where the guys were there, it felt like a thousand bricks falling on you. But it’s really cold and fun, so we don’t mind all that. Hehehe..

They went for breakfast, supplied by the pakcik yg offered us dinner yesterday. I only have drinks. Again, coz I really don’t feel like eating.

We moved out from there around 1.30pm, went back to our chalet, picked our things and the whitewater rafting adventure was officially done!

We arrived at Medan Gopeng around 2.15pm and straight bought the ticket back to Kuala Lumpur and the bus will depart at 2.30pm. We rushed to the bus and off we went back to KL.

 Kalau like this also sejuk lagi, I don’t know what to say dah.. Hehe..

Around 6 we arrived at the station, grabbed our light dinner before we all went our own direction; Syepah and Wani to Gombak, me to Melaka etc. (I forgot how the rest got home. LOL)

Catching bus to Melaka at 7.00pm, slept almost the whole journey and feel a bit gloomy coz the adventure is finally ended.

But I really have fun with you guys, hope we can organize something like this again. Although my leg macam ini, I still want to enjoy like you guys. LOL..
